Cornerstone Architects Holiday Volunteer Event!

Wondering why our office was empty this past Wednesday? Our entire team spent the morning volunteering at the Salvation Army warehouse in South Austin, helping distribute gifts to the families in their Angel Tree program! Since 1979, The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program has helped to fulfill the Christmas wishes and needs of children throughout Central Texas. Low-income families apply to the program starting in September, and parents or guardians provide The Salvation Army with a Christmas wish list for each child that includes new toys or games, along with clothing and shoe sizes. Generous donors then “adopt” each of these Angels and fill an Angel Tree bag with gifts chosen for each child. Gifts are distributed to parents a week before Christmas.

Wednesday was the first day of distribution this holiday season, and we had an amazing time working together to help prep, handout and load up children's gift bags for many incredibly thankful and gracious local families ❤ Dressed in our most festive apparel, we did our best to spread holiday cheer and the Christmas spirit!

The Salvation Army needs a huge amount of volunteers in order to make the Angel Tree program a success each year. If you are interested in getting involved, it's not too late! Visit their website to sign-up for available time slots for you or your group. You may even end up on local news broadcasts like we did!

We kept the festivities going as we gathered for a delicious 10-course lunch, drinks and a Secret Santa gift exchange at Loro - Asian Smokehouse & Bar. Despite the rainy weather, it was an awesome day of working together to help give back to our community and celebrating another great year together!

One of the core values here at Cornerstone Architects is our dedication to giving back. We are so thankful to be able to volunteer our time and resources to multiple local non-profit organizations year after year!
